Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in creating and maintaining a safe work enviroment
• Supervisies the activities of the department. 
• Assists with training, support, and guidance; contributes to the performance evaluation process; provide positive reinforcement, constructive criticim, and disciplinary actions as appropriate. 
• helps determine the manpower requirements consistent with the colume and budget levels authorizing overtime as necessary for their shift or work group.
• Directs, supervises, and coordinates daily tasks and activities. 
• Organizes and assigns work to utilize available skills, knowledge, experience, and labor hours to obtain highest levels of productivity.
• Oversees performance of automated equipment and other tools in an effort to have a proactive approach to preventative maintenance and avoid downtime.
• Initiate and/or participate in continuous improvement and lean projects (SGA).
• Initiates or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Ensure quality product is being produced at the standard rate while minimizing scrap and down time.
• Ensure all company policies and procedures are being followed.
• Identify and resolve issues
• Ensures work teams follow standard work procedures
• Other associated duties.

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics Managment or similar field is preferred but not required. 
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 5 years related experience supervising direct hourly employees in a distriution or warehouse environment. 
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is preferred. 
• Experience with Transportation Operatoions (BOL creation, scheduling shipments, filing claims, etc...) is preferred. 
• Receiving experience (unloading trucks and sea containers, handling documentation, C-TPAT awareness is preferred. 
• Expereicne with lean Manufacting Principles
• Experience with SAP is preferred, but not required. 
• Knowledge of relevant computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet)
• Good verbal and written communication and effective team building skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritze accordingly. 
• Blue print reading and knowledge of metrics.
